This is an awesome place to be; spacious, clean, plenty of amenities, very convenient to town while feeling like you’re way out in the country. No TV, so bring your own screen or, gulp, take to the opportunity to unplug while you’re there. Great value. Highly recommend and will stay there again.     Jason

Lovely home off the beaten path. The guest house is an attached 1-bedroom home with a large main room and kitchen area. The main room has lots of natural light and wood floors, with two futons that fold out into day beds. The bedroom is spacious with a scenic sky light. Both rooms open out to a deck that faces a charming set of woods with a trail. There is an open space for walking dogs, and the owners’ pet, Esther, is a sweet, friendly dog who welcomed our dogs each day. The location feels secluded, but it’s just a few minutes from town and campus. Scarlett and Cavan are friendly and helpful and provided lots of suggestions about places to visit in the area. Our family really enjoyed our stay, and we looked forward to relaxing each evening after our daytime activities were done. We would definitely stay there again!    Leslie

This was the second time we stayed at the Cedar Run Guest House. It is such a sweet oasis in the woods! We absolutely loved our time there, and our son had such a blast playing outside. My parents joined us for the weekend, and it was comfortable for four adults, two children, and a dog with plenty of room to spare. What a great spot!    Shannon

Quiet, secluded spot, great for a couple night getaway. Easy to get to town, close to movies, campus and shopping.  Jim

Blacksburg was a pleasant surprise on our way down south. Nice university town with quite a choice of restaurants. The house was roomy, peaceful, and tranquil in the woods. Views of fireflies from the bedroom window. Perfect for a family of four. Scarlet and her family were very pleasant and easy going. We joined them picking blackberries for breakfast and they served homemade oatmeal on the veranda. Delicious.

The guest house is a home run! I needed to be close to the Virginia Tech campus but did not want to be in a motel. Wow this was so quiet and had everything I needed. The kitchen had everything incl. a full spice rack. The grind it myself complimentary coffee was fantastic. A touch I really liked. The towels, sheets and bed were great. But the space itself is so comfortable and cozy while being huge and expansive. The deck is sweet and private. Vaulted ceilings, open floor plan. Excellent shower/tub! Everything was really great quality. Scarlet and her beautiful baby met me with wonderful smiles when I arrived. Since their part of the house is separate, I had no problem with my late hours. The wifi internet was fast and easy. Since I was working, this was crucial for communicating with my clients. I hope I get to return with either work or leisure sometime soon. A great place to catch fall colors!

This side house is full of natural light and open air. It is a perfect place to read, play cards, relax and such. It’s also conveniently close to Blacksburg. The family is kind and friendly, but not invasive at all. It is clean, open, comfortable, and peaceful.

Scarlett was great! Her husband met us when we arrived and showed us the in-law suite. The house was well furnished with fridge, microwave, and mini-oven. Sleeping arrangements were (2) really comfortable futons and a queen bed. We arrived with (3) additional friends and had enough room for parking, hanging out, and sleeping. Within (a long) walking distance and close to the South Main St Kroger and shopping center. Perfect for staying with friends for homecoming weekend at VT!
